Subtitle: A post-Christmas vegetable ballet for garlic, ginger, eggplant, six walnuts, and a rat, set to Tchaikovsky’s iconic music. “Nutcracker. The Vegetable Ballet” develops a novel choreography based on the potential of plant-based dancers, exploring both traditional theater forms and the possibilities of puppetry. It is the first collaboration between Daria Gosteva, scenographer and director, and Anastázie Dobrodinská, actress and dancer, who met at the Department of Alternative and Puppet Theater at the Theater Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague/DAMU, where they both currently study.
