What if the language surrounding us is not enough for words of comfort? How could we speak of what we are missing, what separates us, what we have lost? In a multi-part, multilingual poetry-music matinée, the artists take you on a journey through the voids that mark their lives in their poetic performances. від відсутності – Centering on grief, solace, and absences, the texts of the group of Ukrainian poets, led by Liubov Shyrkina and Kateryna Kozlova, give voice to loss and make the tremors of their experiences palpable. Accompanied by instruments, the poetry highlights the cracks that have torn through the concept of “home” since the war began. In the performance “EXILLIEDER” by Mátyás Dunajcsik and Kinga Tóth, we hear prayers and hymns, confessions, manifestos, programmatic speeches, invocations, curses, love declarations, and user manuals for a broken world that can only be saved through compassion.
