Most people think they know what racism is. Some have the privilege of being able to ignore racism. But some of us are confronted with it daily. Racism is omnipresent. Racism hurts people. Racism divides us from each other.
Faced with so much suffering and injustice, five brave performers set out to find answers to important questions: How can we truly be there for each other? How can we find the courage together to stand up against racism together, and how can we develop a common strength for it? “BEING THERE” is an anti-racist, documentary performance, created in collaboration with the 7th and 8th grades of the Eidelstedt district school.
Followed by:
Artist talk with the ensemble as part of “Muttizettel”, moderated by young theater experts. “Muttizettel” is a series of discussions curated by children and youths, featuring international artists. “Muttizettel” serves as both a workspace and a school for its audience.
