What is solidarity, and what might solidarity look like in practice? The anthology Literarisch solidarisch – Perspektiven auf einen neuen Literaturbetrieb (edited by Hatice Açıkgöz, Verbrecher Verlag 2026) brings together texts from marginalized positions on belonging and accessibility. They describe personal experiences with systems and structures based on visibility and invisibility—in the literary world and beyond. What perspectives and responsibilities do we need for an open literary and cultural society? Can mechanisms be transformed by describing them? What changes in the habits of gatekeepers or readers do we hope to see? We invite you to join us in conversation. About structural discrimination, about anger, desires, and doubts.

What is solidarity?
Solidarity means: We help each other.
And we stand together.
For example, by listening.

The book “Literarisch solidarisch” collects texts.
Edited by Hatice Açıkgöz.
It will be published in 2026
by Verbrecher Verlag.
People write about their experiences.
Often, they are rarely heard.
This is called: marginalized.
They write about obstacles and belonging.
Many experience exclusion.
Even in literature.
And in everyday life, too,
there are invisible boundaries.
The texts ask questions:
How can society become more open?
How do we change the rules?
And who is allowed to speak?
We invite you.
Come and talk with us.
About anger, hopes, and doubts.
All voices should be heard.

Many authors write
about their experiences.
They often belong to groups,
that are not often seen.

This is called: marginalized.
They write about belonging.
And about exclusion
in society.

Often, it is about literature.
But also about life.
And about who is visible.
Or made invisible.

The texts ask questions:
How can society become more open?
How can more people
take part and have a voice?
