“A Peculiar State” is an immersive multimedia concert performance in which the audience encounters a knight in a post-digital forest clearing who ponders the strange reality of our time. The audience takes a seat on the stage by the knight’s virtual campfire. From there, a hybrid, half-virtual, half-real world unfolds, transforming from a digital fairytale forest into a post-digital wasteland reminiscent of simulated world after the climate catastrophe.
With a unique combination of harpsichord, light and video, the melancholy of modern times is combined with the forlornness of the post-internet age, inviting us into a hybrid world. Together with the audience, “A Peculiar State” embarks on a search for the question of why everything feels so strange in our fragmented, post-digital reality.
